Your essays are islands of sanity and wisdom I look forward to visiting every week. Please keep up the good work, and have a great Christmas and New Year!
Another interesting column (although I missed the audio part). Your Substack is one of my favorite things in life. I don't think I've ever seen a bad one. They tend to range from good to outstanding.
I was also disgusted with the Democrats and the people around Joe Biden, using his decades-long moderate reputation to push through radical left policies. However, I am still uncertain what Trump II will bring and I don’t feel myself to be a populist, exactly, even if I’m not satisfied with any other items on the political menu right now.
For me and most Jews, the year was dominated by the war in Gaza and its spread across the Middle East. Thank God, Israel is ending the year in an infinitely better strategic position than it started, with Hamas largely destroyed, Hezbollah decapitated, Assad gone, the Israeli air force having air superiority over *Iran* and a potentially more supportive US administration coming in the new year.
I like Substack Notes (it took me stupidly long to find it). It’s the first social media feed site that I feel comfortable with. I like that you can set it to only show people you’re following and not random algorithm-chosen people.
I’ve been blogging since 2006 and made friends through it, but this was the year I took the plunge and decided to set up a Substack to post consistently about (my annoyance with) culture and politics. As an autistic with social anxiety, I find making friends much easier online.
I believe you were the reason I started reading and commenting here, besides a dislike for other platforms. Thank you!
I’m very honoured and delighted you are here!

I appreciate all that you do to keep us (and by your own attestation, yourself) a little more sane. Please keep writing; I will happily keep reading.

Well, I'm pretty darn glad I discovered you and your work. It's refreshing to read thoughts of sane people. So, I'll simply say: thank you.
Togetherness. On this weird thing called the internet.
Somehow you've achieved it.
Jenny, I believe you were my first sign up, keep up the good work.
