I'd love to see you on more podcasts. You are not only well worth reading but also well worth listening to. We are indeed living in crazy times. All signs point biblically to the fact that we are rapidly approaching the return of Jesus Christ to rescue in the Rapture those who are truly following him from the wrath to come.
Don’t rely on the rapture. I believe that is a 20th c heresy. We are exhorted to persevere in the face of trials during the tribulation. “Some are destined for the sword, some are destined for prison. This requires the perseverance of the saints.”
That is not true although it is a popular notion these days based on the fact that there was a guy at that time who popularized it. Actually, the concept is biblical. (The Bible does not use the term "rapture", nor for that matter does the Bible use the word "Trinity" but the bible talks about the concepts which is what is important).
I mentioned the rapture being biblical but also, in terms of tribulation, we all deal with some tribulation in our lives (we have all doubtless already had some) but THE tribulation, when the antichrist is reigning on earth, will come after the Christians are removed in the Rapture. Some people will convert to Christianity after the rapture and will have to go through the tribulation which will be terrible. That is why it is much easier and more sensible to choose to follow Christ before the Rapture happens.
I always thought the biblical evidence for the rapture was sketchy. When someone mentioned that God has never taken his saints out of suffering or martyrdom, I immediately saw the problem. Heresy is probably too strong a word. It’s not an article of Faith or anything, I just don’t want people to lose it when the tribulation *does* come and they’re left to suffer.
It’s kinda similar to cheap grace and the belief that once you become a Christian all your problems go away.
Jenny, I would quibble with one thing. At one point you mentioned how the liberal intelligentsia has cultivated a cliquish system of only respecting experts from the "right universities" etc. However, Covid showed us even that's not good enough if the experts go against the approved Narrative. Just one example of many one could adduce, the three doctors who founded the Great Barrington Declaration were from Oxford, Harvard, and Stanford -- and yet STILL the Leftist Mainstream either ignored them or demonized them (ditto for Dr. Martin Makary, from Johns Hopkins). Not only that, but all these doctors only challenged the official Narrative in cautiously limited ways -- they did not dispute that there was even a pandemic nor did they dispute that vaccines can help, that's the crazy part.
Biden: son clearly on the take from the Chinese, Russians, Ukrainians, to the point where he was flying on the tax payer dime to do his own private deals. Credible evidence of said son paying Biden out of those deals. ("Ten percent to the big guy")
Biden: credible accusations of sexual assault, credible evidence of incest, never mind the weird hair sniffing.
Biden: totally racist and homophobic back when it was still allowed.
Biden: responsible for locking up a generation of black mean for drug offences while his son mysteriously never faced any consequences for his documented cocaine and crack and gun crimes.
Biden: best friend to student loan companies and credit card companies.
Biden: clearly, obviously, mentally impaired.
Biden: appointing men in dresses to positions of authority and giving men "Woman of the Year" prizes.
Biden: telling people if they don't agree to cut off the dicks and balls of their gender-confused (probably gay) male children they are committing a sin.
And god knows Trump seems dodgy as fuck. Not a fan. But I am a rational person, I know BS when I see it, and I don't listen to the mainstream media about him or Biden because they are -- ALL of them -- craven lackeys who are literally lying to you and every other Trump-hating Dem.
If the establishment had one iota of the evidence against Trump that they have desperately tried to hide about Biden, it wouldn't be deep fakes of his arrest that we would be seeing. He'd have been taken down a long time ago. Not whatever pathetic charade they are playing with him now (which is largely to his benefit, btw.)
The fact that the Democratic Party gerry-rigged their primaries so that they could appoint Biden and Kamala -- who failed to win a single delegate -- shows how much worse they are than the Republicans, who -- I grant you -- are also pretty terrible. But the fact is that Dems managed to find someone who is ACTUALLY WORSE than Trump. That's a serious accomplishment.
But nah. Never again will I cast a vote for any Democrat. They are unforgivable.
The fact that so many decent Dems are still in denial about how loathsome the Democratic leadership is, is a direct obstacle to uniting what's left of the working and middle classes against a corrupt and quite evil oligarchy. The hour is late. We may well be out of time.

I am intrigued by the statement "this is a 20th century heresy." Can you elaborate on that?

I think you are confusing popularization with heresy. The rapture is actually biblical. See 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.
