Great interview. I feel like I’m listening to the most reasonable commentary around which I can’t get enough of. I want to know all the ‘bad’ accounts Benjamin listens to. So hard to keep up with all the various internet sub cultures
Just finished listening to this interview, Jenny. I confess that I'm so out of it, I'd never heard of Benjamin Boyce, or Konstantin Kisin, or .... well, most everyone else you and Benjamin talked about (except for Tucker Carlson and Jordan Peterson, though I've probably only listened to a total of two of their podcasts, each). I'm feeling very old today--ha!ha!--but I was happy to hear you and Benjamin say that, from your perspective, folks are returning to a belief in God because, as Benjamin put it, belief in God "takes the burden off of us but also empowers us." Amen to that.
Though I don't feel inspired to find out more about Konstantin Kisin--or, to be honest, Benjamin Boyce (though he seems like a very nice young man and I appreciate his authenticity!)--I am now curious to hop online and search for more info about those other two gentlemen you mentioned towards the end of the interview: Jonathan Peugeot and Martin Shaw. That's how I plan to spend the rest of my rainy Sunday afternoon. : )
To be honest, Shelley, I found this comment to be extremely valuable. People (like me) who spend a lot of time online get so tied up in knots, kind of curating their opinions...It gets boring after a while. You are better off!
Excellent discussion. I had listened to Boyce just a few times when I stopped because of his interaction with Megan Murphy in a podcast, The Ethics of Intimacy. It was near the end, at about 49 minutes, and his suggesting and labeling a woman's decision to have sex with a man as a transaction that did him in for me. A woman using sex as a transaction is the fever dream of many men along with misogynistic women. This attitude is why I rarely "dated" in my younger days: he buys you a drink and you now owe him a romp in bed. He did have some interesting points in your interview, but he misses the reason Konstantin, imo, reacted so strongly to Cooper's alternate history. Cooper's history is similar to the Progressive redefining of the word woman. I can entertain isolated disputed stories if there's evidence, but Boyce seems to be entering queer theory/chaos territory, where nothing is defined.
I do remember an interview that he did with Murphy and Aella, in which I thought that he was too easy on Aella, is that the one you mean? I had totally forgotten about that before we did the interview.
I am afraid I disagree with you re: women being transactional. Some certainly do have a transactional relationship to men.
As I said above, there have been a few instances in which I did not fully agree with BB in the past, but I do think he's very open to disagreement, and he's definitely not in queer theory territory IMHO. I think his speaking style/interview style is just very open. And on this weird 'work right' thing, I think he and I are very much in alignment, which is why I wanted to talk to him.
Sure, some women are transactional and they're a match for men who only relate to women transactionally. His comment was directed at MM and he asked her (to paraphrase) what about when boyfriends have bought you (MM) a car or paid your apartment rent. MM responded with being taken aback and saying no one buys her cars or pays her rent, but BB kept trying to push the idea that women, not just some women, choose to have sex for presents, as if MM and Aella are just a degree of difference. He even implied a man giving a woman flowers is a transaction for sex. He seemed to be pushing to get affirmation of his fantasy, and one would think having Aella on his podcast would have satiated him. With so many other podcasters out there, the only way I was going to listen to him again was your interview, and it was very interesting. I know I can be judgmental, but life is short and I'll stick to you, Konstantin and a few others.
Another interesting post. I love your videos. Since some do not have the same things on their radar screens as you do, it would be helpful to introduce guests and to explain any references that might be unfamiliar to viewers. As far as calling yourself an atheist goes, it's great that you really are not an atheist these days but please don't wait to commit to Jesus Christ. None of us has forever to do this, and with the state of the world today, time may be shorter than we think. You don't have to have it all together to commit. A lot of little children do this. It's OK to be a baby Christian now and to learn as you go. Just ask God to help which He will.
Boyce is terrific! He’s a classical liberal, but always kept an open mind. It’s rare that someone like him can have been around for so long with his integrity intact. I’m looking forward to this!
I look forward to listening, I am grateful for both these voices in the noisy world of ideas.

They are almost infinite.

Lol Jenny, "I'm very bored." 🤣🤣🤣 What a great conversation, so many thoughts to start my day. Thank you, both! ❤️
Many of the most intelligent voices on the Dissident Right do favor monarchy.
