Personally, it’s been a mixed bag. Some wonderful things, and some terrible things. But overall, I think I will look back on 2022 as a year in which I learned a huge amount, accomplished a fair amount, and for which I have a lot of gratitude and a lot of happy memories.
Professionally, I accomplished two important goals: I published a lot in other publications, and I grew my Substack significantly. Thank you to all my readers for enabling me to hit those targets! Without you, I am nothing! (Said in dramatic, possibly Slavic, actress voice.)
Another big highlight was travelling to New York to be there when Jodi Shaw was recognised for her intellectual integrity by the American Council of Trustees and Alumni, back in May. We recorded this short conversation a few days afterward, up at the Cloisters in Fort Tryon Park, Upper Manhattan.
And finally, if you’ll allow me the indulgence, I will list below a few of my favourite articles of mine from outside Substack this year. And below that, a few favourite photos.
Thanks, Jenny, for another year of thoughtful writing. I look forward to seeing it arrive in my email at the end of every week. Best wishes for the year to come.
Thank you so much for your article on the risks to vulnerable women posed by "trans-inclusivity" in places of no self defense - prison and homeless shelters. It is inexcusable to have men intermingled with women, just because they want to be. There should be the same kind of psychological testing, and at minimum chemical treatment, that was once required to live as a trans person. Otherwise, as your source says, the foxes are in the henhouse. Louden County VA comes to mind as well.
Jenny, I appreciate your speaking out on behalf of crucial things like intellectual freedom, protection of incarcerated women from predators, and protection of us all from our woke betters so sure of their superior virtue. Instead of the scripted lies that people are expected to mouth these days, you value the biblical principle of speaking the truth in love.
A lovely piece to read on the Arran ferry this morning as we made our way home after a lovely trip away to see our daughter playing in a chamber orchestra. I really enjoy your writing and am glad to have found it this year. Keep going!
Thank you SO much for your brilliant sanity-saving articles from 2022! I look forward to many more in 2023. Happy New Year, Jenny, to you, your family and fellow readers!
