What is driving liberal women crazy?

I posted a YouTube video asking this, and it blew up. Here are some further thoughts on the question half of the US is currently asking.

The scenes from the United States the last two weeks have been disturbing, but not surprising.

As I watched the reaction on social media to the death of Renee Good in Minneapolis earlier this month, a thought occurred to me.

Could these women have been driven mad by having absorbed and taken as a creed the fact that white people are responsible for all the world’s ills?

Has anyone done any deep work on what concepts like ‘white privilege’ ‘white tears,’ ‘white supremacy’ (as it is understood now), and ‘white fragility’ do a liberal white woman’s mind?

We know from the coverage of Good’s death, that she had gone from being a Christian woman partnering with men, to a social justice warrior married to another woman. She had trained with an anti-ICE group, in Minnesota. (Side note: why was Minnesota targeted as ground zero for woke activism? That’s a question for another time.) She sent her youngest child (after losing custody of the older children) to a woke charter school.

From these barest of facts we can tell a lot about Renee. We know the kind of books she had read, and the ideology that she had allowed to steer her life.

I posted a video to YouTube two weeks ago asking, what is driving liberal women crazy? That video blew up, because it seems that at least half the nation is currently asking the same question. My thesis in the video was that being monstered for your innate characteristics was causing these women — who I am guessing like many women put a high value on consensus, collaboration, and community — to put themselves in harms way to atone for their original sin. Being told from a young age that their whiteness had directly caused harm to “black and brown people” is simply too much for these nice white women and girls to bear. They would do almost anything to make up for it. Someone commented that a lot of woke women are motivated by a malevolent desire for control. I agree, but that’s not my focus here. A need to control others is not always driven by malevolence. For example, it’s a very typical coping mechanism for adult children of alcoholics, who grew up trying to manage the family’s chaos. People, especially women, feel the need to control others, when they themselves are in a state of high anxiety, neurosis or fear. Well, being told that you are part of the worst group of people to ever walk the face of the earth, will do that to a lady.

My example in the video was this children’s book — Not My Idea: a Book About Whiteness, by Anastasia Higginbotham. It’s a shocking piece of work.

What would drive a mother to read this abusive material to a child?

You can even see it in the little girl’s face. She shrinks. The book’s author — again, a middle aged white woman — draws her with a stricken look on her pained little face. But there is no redemption at the end for this child. She doesn’t end up overcoming a challenge. The book ends with her being asked to make a deal with the devil.

For me and my Gen X peers, childhood was free from preassigned guilt, or any weight of responsibility for the crimes of others. The girl in this book can never escape. This is what millions of American children have been told by adults who purport to love them.

I’ll give you an even scarier example — in June 2020 an article that appeared in The EdPost, an education magazine, that came very close to calling for violence against white children. It was written by Nahalia Webber, an “educator” with a Masters from the Teacher’s College at Columbia University, who is “dedicated to disrupting education practices that negatively impact Black students.”

She wrote: “there is a killer cop sitting in every school where white children learn.”

The problem, according to Ms Webber, is “white children being raised from infancy to violate black bodies with no remorse or accountability.”

And: “I’m tired of White people revelling in their state-sanctioned depravity, snuffing out Black life with no consequences.”

And the piece de resistance:

“White children are left unchecked and unbothered in their schools, homes and communities [is this bad, ed?] to join, advance and protect systems that take away Black life.”

Who would say this about children?? Turns out, a lot of people would! And this is the worst part. A lot of WHITE PEOPLE would.

The only reason this implicitly homicidal screed was even brought to wider attention was because, at least one private school in NYC actually MANDATED that parents read this article. Presumably so they could stop the dangerous white toddlers in their midst from committing any further murder sprees against their black and brown neighbours?

Around 2022, there was a brief moment of pushback against this cruelty to children. A few people stuck their heads above the parapet to warn us of this anti-white racism directed at children that was being condoned at the highest levels of society.

Megyn Kelly told the world about the Webber article, because her kids’ school was the one that sent it home to parents and told them it was required reading.

Paul Rossi, then a teacher at Grace Church High School, publicly complained of an atmosphere of abuse and coercive control over students coming from faculty and administration. He wrote a blistering piece in the Free Press blowing the whistle on students compelled to interrogate their biases, and faculty enthusiastic over the prospect of “flagging students” who “appear resistant.”

Another New Yorker, Andrew Gutmann, took his daughter out of Brearley around the same time, for imposing the same woke cruelties on their students. You can read his barnstormer of an open letter to the school here. Brearley, in case you don’t know, is an all girls school on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, which at the time of Andrew’s letter, was charging $54,000 per year in tuition. It also made its parents take an ‘anti-racism pledge’ in order for their children to be considered for admission. Gutmann objected to the school’s hiring of a “racial literacy” consultant, hilariously named Pollyanna, to develop curricula for their DEI initiatives. Pollyanna (seriously, I cannot believe that’s their name) was also hired by equally fancy private schools Dalton, Riverdale, and Grace Church.

So why do I think this is relevant to the Protest Karens currently imagining themselves hunting down ICE agents and saving brown babies from ICE concentration camps?

Today we are about a decade out from the woke colonial takeover of all prestige institutions. And woke colonialism is specifically designed to cause emotional derangement in those who believe it.

Most liberal, white women very likely grew up with great admiration for institutions that went woke. They are likely to have an almost ancestral reverence for, say the New York Times, NPR, Harvard, Smith College, etc. They are going to salivate at the thought of the high minded world of publishing. These things are worthy and prestigious. The smart liberal woman wants to like the things that other smart liberal people like.

If you are a liberal white woman who needs on a deep psychic level to maintain her position in society, you are going to be faced with something of a terrible choice. Which is, you either accept what all these institutions that you trusted your whole life tell you;

Or…

You start seeing these institutions as monstrous and dark and evil, because they are willing to harm children, and they became that seemingly overnight. Which means you might have to have to stick your head up and say, actually, this is wrong. Given the very high social cost of doing that, and given how much people need to believe in institutions they once trusted, they are going to choose the former.

That is, they choose to internalise the anti-white hatred — and even force it upon their children so that their children might have some redemption, so that their children don’t grow up as white as they did. So that their children can perhaps free themselves a little bit from this stain.

But the point of woke is — you can’t ever get rid of the stain, because unlike Christianity, there is no God who offers you forgiveness. (Ibram Kendi ain’t it.) There is only a perpetual state of original sin if you have white skin, in the woke ideology. So many of the liberal white women are going to end up backing the schools, backing the media garbage, backing the college HR witch hunts against boys. They’re going to do that in order to maintain the group cohesion, and status.

These women have lived for years and years and years with this horrible feeling of guilt and self-loathing. This horrible need to constantly look for ways to expunge the guilt.

They can fawn over people of colour — like, pretending that Ibram Kendi is a very special genius, or that Precious by Sapphire is the new Pride and Prejudice. But even better, when shit hits the fan, as it has now, they can “put themselves in front of black and brown bodies,” which is a phrase we hear repeated over and over and over and over again. It’s in all of the rhetoric from woke ideology.

Like a mantra.

These women have built up a real head of steam after years and years and years of this painful existence, and the painful enforcing it on your child. Imagine seeing the breaking of your white child’s mind when you tell them at age 5 or whatever, that white people like them are bad and kill black people, and they must somehow do something about that.

This fantasy that ICE is stealing innocents off the streets and putting them in camps, is the perfect opportunity to open that steam valve and let all that negative emotion burst forth. And that’s what we are seeing on social media, the liberal Karen intifada, as someone on X called it. I describe these women as ‘liberal’ even though now they are actually hard left. But I bet you, dollars to donuts, they started out as just plain old liberal normies, before being radicalised by woke.

They are vomiting decades worse of self-hatred onto ICE agents. It’s not going to fix the problem of illegal immigration, but that’s not the goal. The goal is catharsis. And to feel less impotent and feel less trapped by this hideous, divisive, anti human ideology.
