I just spent two delightful hours compiling a Valentine’s Day playlist, if you have any special loved-up events planned on Sunday then this the perfect soundtrack (if I do say so myself). Or, if like me you do absolutely nothing romantic on Valentine’s because it’s a super-annoying Hallmark holiday, listen to it anyway and it will cheer you up. Because love is all, and all is love. ❤️ Can we at least agree on that?
In other news: In the next two weeks I’m taking this newsletter into subscription mode, starting after my next essay, which will be posted on Monday. My Friday posts will not be behind a paywall, but my longer-form stuff will be, starting the week after next. Monday’s essay is a doozy, the first in a three part series about childhood, parenting, and how generations changes culture. I fully realise that I’m being very presumptuous in thinking anyone, even those of you who love me, would want to pay actual money for my musings. But what can I say? Nothing ventured, nothing gained. And Substack has a few different very reasonable payment options. But if that’s not an option for you, then you can continue to enjoy my Friday posts. Have a lovely weekend dear ones.
